So this fella was my first ever Warhammer 40,000 miniature that I finished! He took approximately 10 hours to paint.
This chap is completely magnetised on both arms, so that he can take a multitude of Terminator wargear to make him more adaptable to different game situations.
Painting process:
- Undercoat with Grey Primer (Alternatively use Citadel Mephiston Red spray)
- Armour base coat in Mephiston Red (not necessary if sprayed red)
- Base colour all viable areas Abaddon Black (Cloak, knee pad - for 5th Company, Storm Bolter)
- Base colour all viable areas Leadbelcher (Power Sword, Storm Bolter, Armour features) - optional: paint the power sword red so that lettering appears through silver, use side of the brush to paint on silver so it doesn't end up in lettering recesses
- Base colour all viable areas Balthazar Gold (Armour details, Power Sword hilt)
- Layer colour armour Evil Sunz Scarlet, leaving recesses
- Edge highlight armour Wild Rider Red
- Layer colour Leadbelcher areas Runefang Steel, leaving recesses
- Edge highlight Abaddon Black features with either Eshin Grey (dark) or Dawnstone *as in picture* (light)
- Wash entire model with Nuln Oil shade
- Layer paint Screaming Skull until opaque on shoulder pads *thinning the paint with either water or medium will keep the area smooth*
- Drybrush black areas Dawnstone - VERY LIGHTLY
- Base colour lanyards / ropes Zandri Dust
- Layer paint lanyards / ropes Ushabti Bone
- Wash lanyards / ropes with Seraphim Sepia and a light wash of Agrax Earthshade
- Final weathering - Drybrush Terminatus Stone, then drybrush over that with Zandri Dust to change the hue
